XB/T 617.3-2014 Chemical analysis methods for neodymium iron boron alloy -Part 3: Determination of boron, aluminum, copper, cobalt, magnesium, silicon, calcium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, nickel, zinc and gallium contents-lnductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry 1 Scope This document specifies a method for the determination of boron, aluminum, copper, cobalt,magnesium, silicon, calcium,vanadium, chromium, manganese,nickel,zinc and gallium contents in neodymium iron boron al loy. Thisdocument is applicableto thedetermination ofboron,aluminum,copper,cobalt magnesium, silicon, calcium,vanadium, chromium, manganese, nickel,zinc and gallium contents in neodymium iron boron al loy.The determination ranges aregiven in Table 1. Table 1 Element Determination range/% B 0.80~1.30 Al,Cu, Si,V, Cr,Ga 0.010~0.50 Mg, Ca, Mn, Ni, Zn 0.0050~0.50 Co 0.0050~5.00 Theory 2 After dissolving with acid, the test portion is determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(IcP-AEs), and quasi-matrix matching method is used to correct matrix effect. Reagents and materials 3.1 Mixed solution of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, diluted 3+1+4 3.2 Boron standard stock solution, 1 mg/mL: Weigh 5.7174 g of boric acid [w (H,B0.) ≥99.99%] and dissolve it in a small amount of water.Heat it at a moderate temperature till completely dissolved. Transfer it into a 1000 mL volumetric flask, dilute the solution to the mark with water and mix well. 3.3Aluminum standard stock solution,1mg/mL:Weigh1.0000g of aluminummetal[w (Al)≥99.99%) intoa300mL beaker,add 20mL of water and 3g of sodium hydroxide. After completely dissolved, slowly add hydrochloric acid (1+1) to neutralize until precipitation occurs, then excess 2o mL. Heat it to dissolve while stirring. After cooling, transfer it into a 1000 mL volumetric flask, dilute the solution to the mark with water and mix well. 3.4 Copper standard stock solution, 1mg/mL:Weigh 1.0000 g of copper metal [w (Cu) ≥99.99%], add 20 mL of nitric acid(1+1). Heat it at a moderate temperature till completely dissolved and evaporate to near dry. Then add 10 mL of sulfuric acid (1+1), 1 XB/T 617.3-2014 continue to evaporate careful ly until white fumes.
