ABSTRACT
Thispaperpresents thedevelopment
ofanewisocyanuric acid(lCA)non-post
curevulcanizing system forpolyacrylic
elastomers whichcontain epoxygroups as
curesitesandtheirapplication forATF
Hose.
TherCA-based curesystem consists
ofisocyanuric acidwithanoniumsalt
accelerater andaureaderivative
retarder. Thiscuresystem exhibits good
processability during mixing, good
storage stability ofthemixedstockand
goodsteamcureproperties.
Thevulcani zatesexhibit good
physical properties, excellent
compression setwithout postcure,hot
waterresistance, lowmetalcorrosion
andATFresistance, without sacrificing
thedistinct advantages ofapolyacrylic
elastomer. Theverygoodcharacteristics
obtained withthiscuresystem for
polyacrylic elastomers makethemideally
suited forATFhose.
TOCOPEwiththepublic demand for
environmental protection fromexhaust gas
andalsotomeettheconsumer
requirements forbetter quality and
higher fuelefficiency ofcars,the
automotive industry hasrecently madea
series ofinnovations. Amongtheseare
exhaust gascleaning devices, front-wheel
drive system, automatic transmission
system, electronically controlled fuel
injection system andturbo-charged engine
system, etc.
Lighter andsmaller automobiles arebeing
marketed. Thespaceoftheengine
compartment hasbecome moreandmore
compact, requiring better heat-resistant
properties oftherubber components usedinandaround theengine compartment.
